Frame.io 2025 Updates: Premiere Pro Panel Rebuild, AI Search, and Enhanced Security Explained! (2026)

Frame.io has unveiled a series of exciting updates for October and November 2025, revolutionizing the way professionals collaborate on video projects. These enhancements include a rebuilt Premiere Pro panel, AI-powered search capabilities, and advanced security features, all designed to streamline post-production workflows and elevate the user experience.

Following Adobe MAX 2025, Frame.io has transitioned several key features from beta to full release, introducing new capabilities that cater to the needs of professional editors and production teams.

A Redesigned Premiere Pro Panel

The most significant update is the general availability of the upgraded Frame.io panel for Premiere Pro 25.6. This panel has been completely rebuilt, offering editors a seamless experience within the Adobe ecosystem. Editors can now browse and manage projects, files, and folders directly from the NLE interface, making it easier to import media, share sequences for feedback, and sync review comments as markers on the Premiere timeline.

Quality-of-life improvements include a default Sequences view for faster cut exports and batch import options, allowing users to choose between originals, high-res proxies, or low-res proxies.

AI-Powered Search with Media Intelligence

Frame.io's search functionality has been transformed with the introduction of "media intelligence." Paid plan users can now perform natural language queries, such as "Sunset clips of happy people, status is approved," without relying on exact filenames. The platform utilizes natural language processing to map requests to relevant assets, drawing on metadata and indexed fields.

For Teams and Enterprise customers, a visual search feature (in beta) analyzes footage, providing related results even when descriptions or labels are incomplete. The system automatically indexes the last 30 days of new uploads, with Enterprise customers able to customize historical indexing through their customer success manager.

Enhanced Enterprise Security

Enterprise Prime customers and some legacy Enterprise plans now have access to advanced security features. Forensic Watermarking invisibly stamps each video with a unique, traceable signature for every viewer and delivery, while Digital Rights Management (DRM) restricts playback to authorized viewers in supported browsers and Frame.io apps.

Additionally, a new Content Credentials feature enables users to verify the origin of media assets, including whether content was created with AI.

Firefly Actions: AI Tools for Enterprise Teams

Firefly Actions, currently in beta for Firefly Services customers, empower Enterprise teams to work efficiently at scale. Reframe allows for generating new aspect ratios without rebuilding timelines, Dub creates multilingual versions in 17 languages, and Remove Background provides quick image cleanup. These actions can be triggered on single assets or batches of up to 100 files.

Camera to Cloud and Integration Updates

Camera to Cloud now supports the FUJIFILM X-T30 III, automatically uploading RAW, JPEG, and HEIF files via the C2C API with optional Lightroom connectivity. Additional integrations include image.canon support for Canon cameras and a new MASV integration for sending files directly to Frame.io Version 4 projects.

Webhooks settings (in beta) are now accessible through the web interface for all Version 4 users, enabling seamless event-driven integrations with work management platforms and connector tools like Zapier and Fusion.

Performance and Reliability Improvements

The Frame.io iOS app has seen significant performance enhancements, with cold launches up to 30 times faster for the largest accounts. The Transfer App v1.10.0 addresses reliability issues, including transfer job failures after 8 hours, UI update problems after uploads, and timeout settings for large files. It also adds DRM and Forensic Watermarking support for Version 4 accounts.

Sharing and Review Workflow Updates

The Share Builder has been streamlined, consolidating all controls in a right-side panel. Share Viewer pages now open assets with a single click, and Share Activity tracking provides insights into whether Shares were opened, which assets were viewed, and whether comments were left.

A new Auto option for transcriptions automatically detects spoken language and adjusts transcription settings accordingly, reducing setup time for multilingual projects.

With these updates, Frame.io solidifies its position as a central hub for professional video collaboration, catering to both individual editors and enterprise production teams. Will you be leveraging the new Premiere panel or AI-powered search features? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
