Seattle Reign FC's 2026 Roster: A Look at the Returning Players and New Signings (2026)

Seattle Reign FC Reveals 2026 Roster Plan After 2025 NWSL Season

A season of notable debuts, breakout performers, and elevated play sets the stage for 2026, with 23 players slated to return and the club confirming Sofia Cedeno’s multi-year deal through 2028.

“Our 2025 campaign proved the power of mixing fresh, youthful talent with seasoned veterans who share a clear purpose,” said General Manager Lesle Gallimore. “Our depth expanded, our identity grew stronger, and everyone connected—the players, staff, and supporters—drummed up momentum. As we head into 2026 and continue shaping the roster, gratitude for what we built this year mixes with excitement for what this group can achieve next.”

In addition to Cedeno’s signing, Reign FC announced a new contract for goalkeeper Neeku Purcell through 2026. Purcell, a product of the Reign Academy who first joined the club as a short-term replacement player in 2025, is returning to Seattle as part of next year’s squad.

Original club captain Jess Fishlock will be back for her 14th season in Seattle after finishing with six goals in 2025, tying Emeri Adames for the team lead, and signing a one-year extension in November. The Welsh midfielder, who ended a stellar 19-year international career this year, will enter 2026 without international duties for the first time in her NWSL tenure.

Currently, 24 players are under contract for the 2026 season, including Emeri Adames, Lynn Biyendolo, Ryanne Brown, Jordyn Bugg, Sofia Cedeno, Madison Curry, Maddie Dahlien, Claudia Dickey, Mia Fishel, Jess Fishlock, Shae Holmes, Sofia Huerta, Jordyn Huitema, Angharad James-Turner, Emily Mason, Ainsley McCammon, Phoebe McClernon, Sally Menti, Maddie Mercado, Sam Meza, Cassie Miller, Nérilia Mondesir, Maddie Prohaska, and Neeku Purcell.

Biyendolo, who announced her pregnancy in October, will begin the 2026 season on maternity leave. Miller, whose mutual option was exercised in June, has moved from the 45-day injury list to the season-ending injury list as she continues recovery from a leg injury sustained in June during training.

Three Reign FC players—Lauren Barnes, Hanna Glas, and Veronica Latsko—have officially retired following the 2025 season. Ji So-Yun and Julia Lester, both on loan through 2025, have expiring contracts and will be eligible for free agency once their loans conclude. Mikayla Cluff and Ana-Maria Crnogorčević are also out of contract at year’s end and may enter free agency. Olivia Van der Jagt and the club mutually agreed to terminate her contract, which was due to run through 2026.

Reign FC finished the 2025 regular season in fifth place with 39 points (10-7-9), marking a 16-point improvement over 2024 and securing an eighth playoff appearance. Adames and Dickey earned spots on the NWSL Best XI Second Team. The 2026 season will be the league’s first with 16 teams, following the additions of Boston Legacy FC and Denver Summit FC, and kicks off Friday, March 13.
